Happy Thursday, dear readers! I know it’s been quite a while since my last update, which I have plenty of excuses for, but we’ll chalk it up to mental health, wifeing (just made up a new word!), parenting, and life in general. We good?
The best news I have to share is that Girl on the Right: Memoir of a Life Upside Down was a finalist in the Wishing Shelf Book Awards! The winners were announced on April 1st, and although I didn’t win the top spot in my category of adult nonfiction, I’m truly happy with my finalist medal and certificate. I didn’t go in with any sort of expectation, just the experience of my first book awards. It was a supportive, enjoyable contest, and I highly recommend my fellow indie authors to enter.
In other news, I’m still plugging away on Bride or Bust, which is taking a bit longer than I originally planned…for the same reasons listed above. It WILL be in your hands this year, I promise! Much like my experience writing Girl on the Right, this book has taken a little turn. I’ll talk more about it as we get closer. It’s deep, loves, but like its predecessor, I must go where the words take me.
As if I don’t have enough on my plate, I decided my website needed a face-lift. Going forward, I will continue to blog here, but www.tinatruax.com has been moved. Please check it out and let me know what you think! I’m working on building the kind of content that engages readers and showcases my work. I’ve also added a page for Girl on the Read, which will support indie authors by offering free book reviews. If I stumble across a really good book, it just may be featured in the Girl on the Read Book Club (If you haven’t joined, it’s not too late! We’re launching in June.)!
Well, that about sums things up for now. I’m working on a lot, and appreciate your patience as I finish your next good read.
