While I had no clue where I would be twenty-five years from the day I voiced my intention, I certainly arrived at a destination to make that dream a possible reality.
Reading my words to people, being able to emote as my words were intended during their birth, was a beautiful experience. I loved the freedom to truly connect with my audience, and be vulnerable in the telling of my truth.
I hate knowing that people I love (and I do love each and every reader) have been touched by the ugliness as I have. Every text, private message, or public post has pierced my heart in that knowing.
Today I am verklempt. My memoir is officially published and available for purchase in both print and electronic formats. I know each chapter by heart, and have flayed myself open for the reading public.
